Lullaby Road

This author is a new one for me.  I give this book four stars.  I would recommend this book.  It really helps to read the first book by James Anderson.  Ben Jones drives an eighteen wheeler.  He drives up and down Hwy 117.  This book has been confusing to read.

Cecil Boone was the manager of the truck stop.  He was talking to Ben and told him that someone had left him something on Island 8.  Ben asked Cecil what is was, and Cecil told him that it was none of his business.  He finds a Hispanic boy, named Juan.  He finds a note pinned to Juan that said not to tell anyone, Bad trouble. As he was getting ready to leave, his friend Ginny, who he shares a duplex next to Ben's. She gives him a car seat with her daughter Belli,  in it. He keeps refusing to take her, but in the end he takes her.  So he starts his journey on Hwy 117.

This has been the most confusing book that I have read.  I liked the book, but I don't know if it was the book or me but it was all over the place.

I received this book for Blogging For Books for my honest opinion.

The Keto Reset Diet

These are two more new authors that I have not seen before.  I will be looking forward to trying some of the recipes. Until I got this book I did not even know what a keto diet was.  I would recommend this book.  I give it 4 stars.

Keto is a state of metabolic efficiency where you are able to burn stored energy in the form of body fat and ketones, and not be dependent upon regular high carbhydrate meals to sustain your energy, mood, or cognitive focus. I am going to do a little more looking so that I can be more prepared to not fail.

Brad and Mark has laid out the book to where it is easy to follow. This book was easy to read. It has some pretty good recipes in it, so I look forward to eating some of the recipes.

Nourished

I have been collecting cook books for a few years now and I have to say I am disappointed in this one.  For those that like this kind of book will like, but it is not for me.

As far as the book itself, it is a nice looking book. I give it a 4 for the cover and back of the book.

I guess I will have to start paying more attention to the description of the books from now on.  I thought I was getting a cook book.  Out of 303 pages there is only 27 recipes.  Most of them has ingredients that I have never heard of.  If you are looking for a lot of recipes, i don't recomend this book.

Bringing Maggie Home

Posted by [email protected] on September 7, 2017 at 11:15 PM Comments comments (0)

I love this author. This is the sixth book that I have read so far. I give the book 4 stars. I would recommend this book. This story spans around 70 years and 3 generations of DeFord women. All families has secrets.

The story starts in Arkansas, with 10 year old Hazel and 3 year old Maggie. They are having a tea party. Maggie accidently drops some of it and it breaks. Hazel yells at Maggie about breaking it, and she starts crying. While Hazel is picking blackberries, for a cobbler for supper, Maggie came up missing. Hazel's dad turned to alcohol. Hazel never told her daughter and grandaughter about what happened with Maggie. Hazel's daughter is Diane. Diane's daughter is Meghan.

Meghan, is a cold case detective. She had to leave work to recover from an accident. She goes to spend the time with Hazel.  She does not know her mother is coming. They will be all together at one time.  Hazel's secret about Maggie comes out.  Meghan wants to solve the mystery of what happened to Maggie.

Diane's mother  Hazel, was so protective.  Detective Meghan and Detective Eagle joined forces to solve the disappearance of Maggie DeFord.  They go to see Elaine Burton Durdan.  Elaine and her husband Nolan could not have any children themselves.  Elaine's parents ran the orphanage. Elaine's mother Nora was kidnapping children. Nora was sneaking the kids out and this was not noticed.  While Meghan was investigating, her mom Diane was sitting with her grandmother while she has surgery.  After surgery Hazel fell into a coma.  I am not going to give away the ending. I really wasn't expecting it.

I normally don't read this kind of book. I am more into sci fi and horror type stories. I did enjoy the book, so I will give it 4 stars. I recommend this to anyone that likes this type of book. This is the first book in the Shadows of the Wilderness series. The story is about Mount Rainer National Park and two of the people that work there Margaret Lane an Chief Ranger Ford Brayden.

Margie, as she is called, gets a job at the park. She had dreamed of living and working in Mount Rainer since she was a little girl. She is also trying to escape from Philip. She didn't think her ex fiance, Philip would think to look for her there. He wants to destroy the beauty of Mt. Rainier. Philip wants to modernize the mountain. Philip will go to any length to get what he wants. Margie is also the daughter of a senator.

Ford Brayden is a Chief Ranger at Mount Rainer National Park. He loves his job. He and Margie become friends. When Margie started at the rangers, she asked superintendent Brown how long Ford had been with the National Park Service, and he told her that Ford had been born on the mountain, and he would die on the mountain just like his father had before him.

The IBS Elimination Diet and Cookbook

Posted by [email protected] on May 14, 2017 at 5:30 PM Comments comments (0)

This is a new author for me. When I got this book, I did not realize to what extent that it covered. I recommend this book for anyone that has any kind of stomach problems, and give it 4 stars.  I am also a diabetic so this will help me with that.  The pictures are beautiful.

This book gives sample meal plans and a grocery list for a 7 day meal.  It recommend to get fresh items if at all possible. One of the questions asked was that this person was reading the label, and saw that all the ingredients except one was ok. She wanted to know if she could eat this, and was told no.  She said that the closer you adhere to the diet during this time period, the more you will learn about how your IBS symptoms respond.

This book lists what you need to put in your pantry and it breaks it down by food groups, like meats, milk, vegetables, grains, proteins, beverages, sweets, oil, uts and seed, fruit, poultry, just to name a few.  It also tells you how to read food labels.  The recipes are nicely written, and they look like they will taste good.  I will be trying these recipes.
