The Catch

This is the second book by Taylor Stevens that I have read. The other book was The Doll. It was good. This book was also good. I give it five stars. I would recommend this book. I will have to go back and read the other books by this author.

In this book Michael can change into a man, or anything else she needs to to adapt to her surroundings. She can learn any language faster than others. Michael’s in Djibouti to rest up after being kidnapped in The Doll. She is a guard on a ship going to Kenya. The are attacked by pirates, but Michael and the captain escape in a small boat. She has incredible survival skills.

She plans on taking the Favorita back from the pirates. Michael, Amber, Natan, and the captain get on the ship and begin taking it back over. They were taking the ship to Mombasa, but Michael gets off the ship North of Malindi. She gets a ride and goes to Mombasa. When the ship gets there there are numerous people waiting to board. When the officials boarded the ship looking for weapons, they did not find any.

Second Street Station

I have never read any books by this author. I hope the book better than what the cover looks like. The cover does not appeal to me at all. So we will see. I am gonna give this book four stars.  New York City and Brooklyn are hit with a very bad snow storm.

Her talents are wasted working in a hat  sweatshop. She would like to be a detective. Mary  gets fired from her sweatshop job.  She gets a job detective on the New York police force. Her first case is to solve the murder of Charles Goodrich a retired accountant for Thomas Edison. She is being followed, beaten, drugged, and lied to.  She is not afraid to fight.  Mary is different from the other girls.

Charles had kept a journal with detailed records. Mary's best friend Kate was engaged to Goodrich.  Thomas Edison, J. P. Morgan,  George Westinghouse, Nikola Tesla and Edwin Booth are some of the people in this book.

The River Cottage Curing & Smoking Handbook

This cookbook is a little different from what I am use to, but I am game to try anything one time.  I give this book five stars. I would definitely recommend this to any one that likes this sort of thing.

This book goes into great detail about curing and smoking meat. It goes into good and bad bacteria and molds. It goes into what equipment you will need. It shows a diagram of a pig, cow, and sheepand what each sections are and what to do with it.

There are alot of recipes that I can't pronounce, and some of the ingredients is gonna be hard to figure out where to get them.

Yogurt

This is another new author. I love getting cook books from different authors. They all have a different style about them.  I give this book 5 stars. I would highly recommend this cook book.  I never realized that there were so many different ways to use yogurt.

The pictures are absolutely beautiful. And I love seeing what the food is supposed to look like when it is finished. She goes into so much detail about what to use and how to use it.

They were some names of things and different food that I have never heard of before. So I will have to research them if I try those recipes. Overall I think I am gonna love making some of these recipes.

This is another cookbook from this author. I gave it 4 stars. I would highly recommend this cookbook.

To start with I would like to say I was highly disappointed that there were not very many pictures of the recipes. I like to be able to see what my recipe looks like after it done.

I was given this book from "BLOGGING FOR BOOKS"

This is another new author. I have not heard of most of these ingredients, so this will be interesting to try some of these recipes.  My sister in law would love this book. She likes making everything from scratch. I give this cook book 4 stars. I would recommend this cook book.

I look forward to trying out this recipes. We have most of the ingredients planted in the garden this year. I have skimmed the book, but have not tryed anything yet.

One thing I wished I knew is can these recipes be canned in jars. I have alot of recipes for canning but can I do these?

Here is another new author that I am liking.  I give this cook book 4 stars. I highly recommend this cook book.  I can not wait to start using some of these recipes.

One thing that I don't like is that the cook book will not stay open on the counter while I am trying to read it. Also the are a bunch of ingredients that I have never heard of.

My granddaughter will be coming fro the summer and she will love getting to make some of the recipes with me.  I see us making lots of cakes and cup cakes.

When Grace Sings

I absolutely love this author and her books. I give the book four stars and would highly recommend it. Alexa Zimmermann has opened a B&B in her grandmother's house in Arborville, Kansas.

Briley Forrester, a reporter from Chicago comes to stay in her cottage for a while. He is investigating the people of the community, because he thinks there is something going on with the people there.  Alexa and Anna-Grace find themselves a target for discord and exposed secrets.

I can't believe that there is only going to be one more. I usually try to read the books in order.  I hate having to wait months and months for the next one to come out.

Soul Food Love

I liked the cookbook. I gave it 4 Stars, I would recommend this cookbook for anybody. There were a few things I didn't like. It had about one third of the book with biographies that could have been recipes.

This cookbook is around 77+ pages family history that walks us through her family’s history.  This cookbook  tells the story of a black family growing up in the kitchens of the south. The authors share kitchen memories and gossip that have spanned five kitchens and three generations.

I can't wait to start cooking from this cookbook. Some of the recipes sound like they will good.  The recipe categories are divided up into Sips and Bites, Soups, Main Dishes, Sides and Salads Desserts, Crowns and For a Crowd.
